Simply stated, you sit down and have a one-on-one face-to-face meeting with each of your direct report associates. You explain what the change will be; why it will benefit all involved; if they have any questions/concerns; and gain a receipt of understanding from the associates. We don’t give the associate an option just an acknowledgment that that action in the future will be changing.
